
SOUTH CAROLINA — One person was killed in a single-vehicle crash early Tuesday morning in Horry County, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred around 12:01 a.m. on East Highway 19 between Cane Branch Road and Clio Road near Loris, authorities said. Horry County Fire Rescue responded to the scene shortly after the crash was reported.
Officials said an SUV traveling south on East Highway 19 ran off the right side of the road, struck a ditch and overturned. Emergency crews also reported that the driver was ejected from the vehicle.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The individual’s identity has not been released.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
