OKLAHOMA — A 19-year-old Calumet man was killed early Saturday morning in a crash along Highway 66 in Caddo County, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Troopers identified the driver as Langston Alan Pratt. The crash happened around 2:35 a.m. on State Highway 66, also known as Old U.S. 66, about 0.2 miles east of County Road 2510.

Investigators said Pratt was traveling eastbound at a high rate of speed when he failed to negotiate a curve. The vehicle left the roadway on the south side before Pratt overcorrected, crossing back over the roadway and leaving the north side.

Authorities said the vehicle then struck a tree and caught fire.

Pratt was trapped inside the vehicle for nearly three hours before firefighters were able to free him. He was pronounced dead from his injuries.

Officials said both Pratt and a passenger were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash. The passenger was injured but survived. The extent of their injuries has not been released.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol continues to investigate the crash.
