OHIO — A 20-year-old woman from Continental was killed Friday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash in Paulding County, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred at approximately 2:12 p.m. at the intersection of State Route 637 and County Road 138 in Jackson Township.
Troopers said Sara Woolbright was driving a 2002 Volkswagen Beetle westbound on County Road 138 and stopped at the intersection before pulling into the path of a northbound 2025 Ford F-750 driven by Brian Robinson, 40, of Defiance.
According to investigators, Woolbright failed to yield from a posted stop sign. The two vehicles collided and traveled off the west side of State Route 637 before striking a guardrail.
Woolbright was pronounced dead at the scene.
Robinson and his passenger, Ronald Sanholtz, 64, of Liberty Center, were not injured.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol said drugs and alcohol are not suspected to be factors in the crash. No charges have been filed.
The Van Wert Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the incident.
The patrol was assisted at the scene by the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office, Paulding Fire and EMS, and Gideons Towing and Recovery.
