LOUISIANA — A 22-year-old man was killed Thursday morning in a two-vehicle crash in Iberville Parish, according to authorities.
The victim was identified as Collin Smith, of Rosedale.
Officials say Smith was driving a 2013 Buick Enclave southbound on LA 77, just south of Interstate 10, shortly before 11:30 a.m. when he crossed the centerline and collided head-on with a northbound 2008 Kenworth tractor-trailer.
Following the collision, both vehicles ran off the roadway, entered a nearby tree line, and caught fire.
Smith was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the tractor-trailer sustained moderate injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The crash remains under investigation.
