ILLINOIS — An 81-year-old woman has died following a single-vehicle rollover crash in Jo Daviess County, Illinois, according to authorities.
The Jo Daviess County Sheriff’s Office identified the victim as Judith Winter of Scales Mound, Illinois.
Officials said deputies and emergency personnel were called around 4:44 p.m. Thursday to North Elizabeth Scales Mound Road, about a quarter mile south of County Road O.
Investigators said a red Chevrolet left the roadway, struck a home garage, then traveled down a hill where it hit a utility pole before rolling into an embankment.
First responders attempted lifesaving measures, but Winter was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
