GEORGIA — A 53-year-old woman died following a single-vehicle crash in West Macon, according to authorities.
The crash happened just before noon on Harrison Road near the intersection of Chambers Road, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office. Investigators said the driver traveled off the roadway and struck a power pole.
The driver, identified as Cheryl Denise McNeal, was pronounced dead at the scene, Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones confirmed. Officials said she was the only person in the vehicle.
Photos from the scene show a heavily damaged sedan off the roadway in a wooded area, with significant front-end damage and a shattered windshield.
The crash remains under investigation.
