GEORGIA — One man was killed and several other people were injured in a side-by-side utility vehicle crash in Bacon County on Wednesday evening, according to the Georgia State Patrol.
Authorities said the crash happened on Caraway Road. Deputies were dispatched around 6:42 p.m. after receiving reports of an ATV wreck. Troopers arrived at the scene at about 7:17 p.m.
Investigators said a 2026 Polaris UTV carrying seven people — three adults and four children — was traveling at a high rate of speed when the driver failed to negotiate a sharp right-hand curve.
The vehicle ran off the left side of the road, overturned and struck a tree, troopers said.
One adult man was taken to Bacon County Hospital, where he later died. Two other adults were flown from the scene for medical treatment. Authorities said one of the four children suffered minor injuries.
In total, five occupants were transported for treatment.
The Georgia State Patrol’s Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team is continuing to investigate the crash.
