
OHIO — A North Ridgeville woman died following a two-vehicle crash Friday morning in Ashland County, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The crash happened around 11:30 a.m. at the intersection of U.S. 30 and State Route 89 in Mohican Township.
Troopers said 66-year-old Jeanette Vibbert of North Ridgeville was driving a Hyundai Elantra on State Route 89 and was attempting to turn west onto U.S. 30 when she failed to yield at a stop sign.
According to investigators, Vibbert’s vehicle was struck on the passenger side by a Jeep Cherokee traveling on U.S. 30. Both vehicles then traveled off the roadway and into the grassy median.
Vibbert was injured in the crash and was transported to OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol said both drivers were wearing seat belts at the time of the collision. It was not immediately clear whether the driver of the Jeep suffered any injuries.
The crash remains under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
