OHIO — A 23-year-old man was killed and two teenagers were injured in a shooting Sunday afternoon on Cleveland’s west side, according to police.
Officers with the Cleveland Police Second District responded to reports of shots fired in the 3500 block of West 48th Street around 2 p.m.
Investigators said the shooting occurred during a fight involving a group of people. Three victims were identified: a 23-year-old man, a 16-year-old and a 15-year-old.
All three victims were transported by EMS to MetroHealth Hospital for treatment. The 23-year-old was pronounced dead at the hospital.
According to EMS officials, the 16-year-old victim remains in critical condition, while the 15-year-old is listed in serious condition.
Police remained at the scene Sunday afternoon as the investigation continued. Detectives with the Cleveland Police Homicide Unit also responded.
Authorities said an adult man believed to be the suspect has been detained. No additional information about the suspect or possible charges has been released.
