FLORIDA — A man has died after being found shot inside a home in Tampa Wednesday afternoon, according to police.
The Tampa Police Department said officers responded just before 3 p.m. to reports of gunfire in the 3700 block of East Powhatan Avenue.
When officers arrived, they found a man inside the home suffering from a gunshot wound. Police said officers provided life-saving measures until Tampa Fire Rescue arrived and transported the man to a hospital.
Authorities said the victim later died from his injuries.
Detectives are working to determine what led up to the shooting and to identify those involved.
