
GEORGIA — A man is dead following a shooting early Sunday morning at a Family Dollar store in Rome, according to police.
The Rome Police Department said officers responded around 12:42 a.m. to reports of a shooting at the store located in the 1400 block of North Broad Street.
When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries, police said.
Authorities have not released the victim’s name.
Investigators say there were numerous people in the area at the time of the shooting and are urging anyone who may have seen what happened or has photos or video to come forward.
“Someone saw something. Someone knows who pulled the trigger,” police said in a statement.
