One person dead following semi-truck crash on I-26 in South Carolina

SOUTH CAROLINA — A driver was killed early Wednesday morning after a Walmart truck overturned along Interstate 26 in Laurens County, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

The crash happened at about 3:40 a.m. in the westbound lanes of Interstate 26 near mile marker 49, close to the interchange with Interstate 385.

Troopers said the Walmart truck was traveling westbound when it left the right side of the roadway and overturned. The driver died as a result of the crash.

Authorities have not released the driver’s name.

No additional injuries were reported.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol continues to investigate the crash.
