
PENNSYLVANIA — One person was killed and another was injured following a road rage shooting Saturday afternoon in Southwest Philadelphia, according to police.
The incident occurred around 4:48 p.m. in the 5200 block of Chester Avenue in the city’s Kingsessing neighborhood, Philadelphia Police Inspector D.F. Pace said.
Authorities said the shooting stemmed from an argument between the driver of a Toyota SUV and a group of individuals riding e-bikes. During the confrontation, the driver of the SUV opened fire on the group.
Police said the victim who died was shot three times in the chest and is believed to be between 17 and 21 years old. A 25-year-old man was also shot in the arm and was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The suspect vehicle was described as a light-colored Toyota SUV, possibly gold or yellow, with multiple colors on different parts of the vehicle.
No arrests have been made. Police are actively searching for the shooter and are asking anyone with information to contact the Philadelphia Police Department at 215-686-TIPS (8477) or submit a tip online.
