PENNSYLVANIA — One person was killed in a multi-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon in Bensalem Township, according to authorities.

The crash happened around 4:48 p.m. at the intersection of Bristol Road and Chestnut Avenue.

Investigators said the driver of a Toyota RAV4 was found dead at the scene. The person’s identity has not yet been released.

According to police, the crash followed a domestic-related incident in Lower Southampton Township. Authorities said the driver fled that scene at a high rate of speed while traveling along Bristol Road.

Police said the Toyota crossed into oncoming traffic while attempting to pass another vehicle and collided with a Hyundai Kona. The RAV4 then became airborne before striking a Honda SUV and a Ford pickup truck.

Officials have not said whether anyone else involved in the crash was injured.

The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone who witnessed the crash or has information is asked to contact Bensalem Township Police at 215-633-3719.
