
NORTH CAROLINA — One person was killed in a motorcycle crash near Spring Lake late Wednesday night, according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.
Troopers responded to the crash around 11 p.m. at the intersection of N.C. Highway 210 and McCormick Bridge Road.
Investigators said a car failed to yield at the intersection and collided with the motorcycle.
One person died from their injuries at the scene, authorities said.
When troopers arrived, they found a white vehicle with heavy front-end damage. Debris from the crash was scattered into a wooded area near the roadway.
The road was partially closed as traffic was diverted around the scene while investigators worked.
No arrests had been made as of Thursday morning. The crash remains under investigation.
