KANSAS — One person was killed and another seriously injured in a single-vehicle motorcycle crash Sunday night in Geary County, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.

The crash happened around 7:21 p.m. at Old Highway 40 and Kansas Falls Road, about three miles southwest of Junction City.

Authorities said a 2002 Harley-Davidson motorcycle was traveling west on Old Highway 40 approaching Kansas Falls Road when the rider failed to negotiate a curve.

Investigators said the rider lost control of the motorcycle, causing both occupants to be thrown from the bike.

The rider, identified as 49-year-old Jeremy W. Williams of Weatherford, Oklahoma, was taken to an area hospital with serious injuries.

A passenger, 38-year-old Amanda W. Conrad of Junction City, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Kansas Highway Patrol said neither person was wearing a helmet.
