INDIANA — One person died following a crash involving a motorcycle and an SUV on the city’s south side Wednesday afternoon, according to police.
The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department responded just before 2:30 p.m. to the intersection of West Sumner Avenue and Harding Street. The crash occurred in an area of mixed industrial and residential properties about a mile north of the Interstate 465 interchange.
Roads in the area were closed as emergency crews responded and investigators worked at the scene.
Police confirmed that one person died as a result of the crash. Additional information about the victim and the circumstances leading up to the collision was not immediately available.
The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department continues to investigate the crash. No further details have been released.
