FLORIDA — A motorcyclist was killed Saturday afternoon in a crash involving a pickup truck in Lake County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash happened on State Road 44 near Brantley Branch Road.
Investigators said a 2000 Harley-Davidson motorcycle collided with a 2008 Toyota Tundra after the rider lost control while traveling above the posted speed limit. Troopers said the motorcycle swerved into the westbound lane and struck the truck.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have not released the rider’s identity.
The driver of the Toyota Tundra remained at the scene and was not taken to a hospital, according to FHP.
The crash remains under investigation.
