
GEORGIA — Authorities shut down part of a roadway near a DeKalb County middle school Thursday as police responded to a deadly incident.
According to the DeKalb County Police Department, officers were called to the area of Covington Highway and Miller Road, where an active situation prompted a roadblock near Miller Grove Middle School.
Officials said one person has died in connection with the incident. Early reports indicate the death was the result of a crash, though investigators have not yet released full details about what led up to it.
Authorities have not released the identity of the person who died.
Police said the investigation remains ongoing, and additional information is expected to be released as it becomes available.
