
ILLINOIS — A woman was killed Sunday night in a hit-and-run crash on the city’s Northwest Side, according to the Chicago Police Department.
Police said the incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. in the 3100 block of North Central Avenue in the Belmont Cragin neighborhood of Chicago.
Authorities reported that a 65-year-old woman was walking southbound in a crosswalk when she was struck by a red pickup truck traveling in the same direction. The driver did not stop after the crash and continued south on Central Avenue.
Crews with the Chicago Fire Department responded to the scene and provided treatment, but the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials have not yet released the victim’s identity.
Major Accident detectives are continuing to investigate the hit-and-run.
