ARIZONA — A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle Tuesday evening in Tucson, according to police.
The Tucson Police Department said the crash occurred just before 7:30 p.m. near Speedway Boulevard and Rosemont Boulevard.
Authorities identified the victim as 61-year-old Gregory Scott Cunningham, who died at the scene.
Investigators said Cunningham was attempting to cross Speedway from south to north when he was hit. Police noted he was not in a marked or unmarked crosswalk at the time of the collision.
The driver, who was operating a gold 2014 Lexus sedan, was not injured. Officers determined the driver was not impaired.
Police said midblock crossing in front of traffic was the primary factor in the crash.
The investigation remains ongoing.
