GEORGIA — One person is dead following a shooting that occurred during an altercation in Midway on Saturday night, according to authorities.
The Liberty County Sheriff’s Office said the incident happened shortly after 8:30 p.m. on Anglers Edge in Midway.
Investigators said a man was shot during an altercation. The victim was transported to Liberty Regional Medical Center in Hinesville, where he was later pronounced dead.
A person of interest was detained following the incident.
Authorities have not released the identity of the victim or the person detained, and no charges have been announced.
