
TEXAS — A Big Spring man is dead after a crash involving a cow early Monday morning in Midland County, according to authorities.
The Texas Department of Public Safety said the crash happened just after 12:30 a.m. on FM 1379. Investigators said the driver was traveling northbound when he struck a cow in the roadway.
After the impact, the driver lost control of the vehicle, veered off the road, struck a fence and continued through a dirt field before the truck overturned. The vehicle, a 2000 Volvo truck towing a trailer, flipped during the crash.
The driver was identified as 61-year-old Robert Wayne Gregory of Big Spring. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials said no other vehicles were involved and no additional injuries were reported. Weather conditions were clear at the time of the crash.
The incident remains under investigation.
