
SOUTH CAROLINA — A pedestrian was killed Monday night in a hit-and-run crash in Orangeburg County, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
Troopers said the crash happened around 11:15 p.m. on Citadel Road near Regional Parkway in Orangeburg County.
Investigators said the pedestrian was walking in the westbound lane of Citadel Road when they were struck by an unknown vehicle that was also traveling westbound.
According to troopers, the vehicle left the scene after the collision. The pedestrian died as a result of their injuries.
Authorities have not released the identity of the victim or any details about the vehicle involved.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the crash.
