GEORGIA — A pedestrian was killed after being struck along Highway 81 in Walton County on Thursday afternoon, according to the Walton County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities said the incident occurred near Ozora Church Road. The sheriff’s office reported that the roadway was shut down around 12:30 p.m. as emergency crews responded to the scene.
TThe pedestrian did not survive. The victim has been identified as a construction worker, according to reports.
In a social media post, the sheriff’s office advised motorists to avoid the area while the investigation and response efforts were underway.
