FLORIDA — A 22-year-old man was arrested early Friday morning after leading Florida Highway Patrol troopers on a high-speed chase that ended with a PIT maneuver and crash on Interstate 75 in Lee County, according to authorities.
FHP said troopers attempted to stop a Ford Mustang traveling 120 mph on southbound I-75. Investigators said the driver fled before the traffic stop could be completed.
Authorities said the chase continued through the Alico Road area before the Mustang re-entered northbound I-75. Troopers eventually used a PIT maneuver to stop the vehicle on the northbound ramp to I-75.
The driver was identified as Cayman Dane Moore, 22.
Moore was arrested and charged with fleeing, driving with a suspended license, super speeder, reckless driving, DUI and refusal to submit to DUI charges, according to FHP.
No injuries were immediately reported.
