
FLORIDA — A Charlotte County man was arrested after deputies said a search warrant at his Englewood home uncovered large amounts of drugs, cash, firearms and drug distribution materials.
According to the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office, deputies with the agency’s Narcotics Unit, assisted by SWAT, served a search warrant Tuesday at a home on Michael Street in Englewood following an investigation into alleged cocaine trafficking.
Investigators said 30-year-old Matthew Taylor was accused of selling cocaine to undercover detectives and was identified as the supplier during the investigation. Deputies also said surveillance video showed Taylor making multiple drug sales from the residence.
During the search of the home, deputies said they recovered 1.57 pounds of cocaine, 8.22 pounds of marijuana, 50 Adderall pills, $21,840 in cash, a money counter machine, scales, baggies and a .22 caliber rifle.
Taylor was taken into custody and faces multiple charges, including two counts of cocaine trafficking, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, two probation violation charges and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.
The investigation remains ongoing.
