OHIO — A routine traffic stop on Interstate 77 in Noble County led to the arrest of a Beverly, Ohio, man on drug charges earlier this month, according to the Noble County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies said the stop happened May 8 near Belle Valley after officers noticed expired registration on both a Chevy truck and the trailer it was towing.
Authorities identified the driver as 56-year-old Jeffrey Sydenstricker. Deputies said Sydenstricker was unable to provide paperwork for the truck or trailer and was driving with a suspended license.
K-9 Ace was called to the scene and alerted deputies to the presence of narcotics during an open-air sniff of the vehicle, according to the sheriff’s office.
A search of the truck reportedly uncovered more than 45 grams of suspected methamphetamine along with drug paraphernalia.
Sydenstricker was arrested and booked into the Noble County Jail on charges including aggravated trafficking in drugs, aggravated possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. He also received multiple traffic citations.
The truck was towed from the scene, and deputies said two passengers were taken to a safe location.
