OHIO — A Columbus man was arrested Wednesday afternoon after deputies said a traffic stop in Bellefontaine led to the discovery of suspected cocaine inside a vehicle.

According to the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, deputies observed a traffic violation near South Main Street and Auburn Avenue before stopping a tan Ford Fusion in the 1700 block of County Road 18.

Investigators said the driver, identified as 49-year-old Dyondo Lyburtus, appeared overly nervous while deputies waited for a K-9 unit from the Bellefontaine Police Department.

After the K-9 alerted on the vehicle, deputies searched the car and found a pill bottle containing a white powdery substance that later tested positive for cocaine, according to authorities.

Deputies also reported finding a digital scale and chore boy material inside the trunk.

According to the sheriff’s office, Lyburtus denied knowing about the cocaine and told deputies the bottle had previously contained Viagra pills.

Lyburtus was taken into custody and transported to the Logan County Jail on a drug possession charge.
