NORTH CAROLINA — A man was arrested after a reported break-in at a Dollar Tree in Kinston, according to the Kinston Police Department.

Police said officers with D-Squad responded Friday, May 22, to a report of a breaking and entering at the Dollar Tree located at 201 W. Vernon Ave.

According to investigators, the caller had remote access to the store’s security camera system and provided officers with real-time updates while they responded to the scene.

When officers arrived, they searched the business with assistance from K-9 Kilo and found 24-year-old Meson Platt hiding inside the stockroom, police said.
