OKLAHOMA — A man is facing multiple felony charges after leading Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers on a pursuit along U.S. Highway 412 near Catoosa, authorities said.

According to OHP, troopers attempted to stop the driver after he was allegedly traveling 109 mph through a construction zone where workers were present.

Officials said the driver refused to stop and fled eastbound on U.S. Highway 412. During the pursuit, a passenger reportedly exited the vehicle.

Troopers later used a tactical vehicle intervention maneuver to stop the fleeing vehicle, according to OHP.

Authorities said the driver then ran into a nearby field, prompting troopers and assisting agencies to establish a perimeter in the area.

The Grand River Dam Authority assisted in the search by using a helicopter already nearby to help locate the suspect.

The man was eventually taken into custody and booked into jail on felony complaints that include eluding, kidnapping, running a roadblock and driving under the influence.
