FLORIDA — A Volusia County man was arrested after deputies say he stole a woman’s SUV from a nail salon and later threatened law enforcement with a firearm.
According to the Volusia Sheriff’s Office, 43-year-old Robert Tokarz faces multiple charges, including carjacking and grand theft.
Investigators said Tokarz stole the victim’s SUV from a nail salon, prompting deputies to begin searching for the vehicle.
Authorities said the SUV’s OnStar security system helped deputies locate and track the vehicle by remotely slowing it down, allowing law enforcement to safely intervene.
Deputies eventually found the SUV on Tomoka Farms Road, where Tokarz was taken into custody.
No injuries were reported during the incident.
The case remains under investigation.
