TEXAS — A 76-year-old man was arrested Sunday after San Antonio police said officers found multiple dead dogs at a home on the city’s Southwest Side.
Police said officers responded just after 1:35 p.m. to the 500 block of Cavalier Avenue after receiving a report that the man was killing dogs.
When officers arrived, they found several dead dogs at the property, according to SAPD.
The man was taken into custody and charged with cruelty to non-livestock animals, police said.
San Antonio Animal Care Services also responded to the scene to investigate. Officials said the agency took custody of all living animals found on the property.
Authorities have not released the man’s identity. Police also have not said how many dogs were found dead.
The investigation remains ongoing.
