MISSISSIPPI — A woman was arrested after a crash that knocked down multiple utility poles and power lines in west Jackson late Monday night, authorities said.
According to Jackson fire crews, the crash happened around 11:10 p.m. near the intersection of Boling Street and Hoover Street.
Officials said the woman was driving a gray Honda when she struck two utility poles. The impact caused a third utility pole to fall, bringing down power lines in the area. The vehicle then came to rest in a ditch.
Firefighters said the driver did not appear to be injured in the crash.
The woman was arrested at the scene, and her vehicle was towed. Authorities have not released her name or any charges she may face.
The intersection remains closed as utility crews work to repair the damaged poles and restore the downed power lines.
The incident remains under investigation.
