
SOUTH CAROLINA — A North Carolina man was killed in a motorcycle crash in Cherokee County, according to officials.
The Cherokee County Coroner’s Office said the crash happened on S.C. Highway 11 in Gaffney. Authorities reported that the motorcyclist was traveling east when a two-vehicle collision occurred.
According to the coroner, the motorcyclist was attempting to pass an SUV that was turning left onto Bronner Road when he struck the driver’s door. He was ejected from the motorcycle and died at the scene.
The victim has been identified as 48-year-old William Michael Martin Jr.
An autopsy is scheduled as part of the ongoing investigation.
