FLORIDA — A review of available 2025-26 Florida public school calendars shows many districts are scheduled to finish classes during the month of May 2026.
Several of the state’s largest districts plan to end the school year during the final week of May.
In Northeast Florida, Duval County Public Schools lists May 28, 2026 as the last day of school for students.
Along the Gulf Coast, Pinellas County Schools also scheduled May 28, 2026 as the final day for students, with a two-hour early release planned.
In South Florida, The School District of Palm Beach County lists May 29, 2026 as the final student day on its approved district calendar.
Central Florida districts also largely end in late May. Lake County Schools announced the 2025-26 school year will conclude on May 29, 2026.
In the St. Augustine area, St. Johns County School District scheduled May 29, 2026 as the last day for students.
Nature Coast district Citrus County Schools lists May 29, 2026 as both the last day for students and the end of the fourth grading period.
Virtual public schools in Florida also follow a similar timeline. Digital Academy of Florida lists May 28, 2026 as the final student day.
The review found that while most Florida districts appear to end the school year in late May, some larger districts — including Broward County Public Schools — continue into early June. Broward’s calendar lists the last day of school on June 4, 2026.
District calendars can change because of hurricane make-up days or future school board revisions. The review was based on publicly available 2025-26 calendars and district announcements and should not be considered a complete list of every Florida district.
