VIRGINIA — A landscaper was killed Friday morning after a two-vehicle crash on Johnstown Road, according to Chesapeake police.
Officers responded around 9:49 a.m. to the 400 block of Johnstown Road for a reported crash.
Police said a black sedan was traveling south on Johnstown Road at a high rate of speed when it collided with a red SUV that was turning onto Johnstown Road from Britwell Drive.
Following the collision, the black sedan lost control, left the roadway and struck a landscaper who was working in the area, authorities said.
The landscaper was pronounced dead at the scene.
The drivers of both vehicles involved in the crash suffered minor injuries and were transported to local hospitals for treatment.
The Chesapeake Police Crash Reconstruction Team is investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
No additional information, including the identity of the victim, was immediately released.
