Bicyclist dead after being struck by vehicle in Ohio

OHIO — A bicyclist was killed Friday morning after being struck by two vehicles in the Milo-Grogan neighborhood, and police are searching for one of the drivers who left the scene.

The crash happened just before 8:30 a.m. near the intersection of Essex and Shoemaker avenues, just off Cleveland Avenue.

According to authorities, the bicyclist was hit by two cars and was pronounced dead at the scene at 8:41 a.m.

Police said one of the drivers involved remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. However, the second driver fled the area, traveling southbound on Cleveland Avenue after the collision.

No description of the vehicle or driver was immediately released.

Authorities have not identified the bicyclist pending notification of family members. Additional details about the circumstances leading up to the crash were not immediately available.

The investigation remains ongoing as police work to locate the driver who left the scene.
