FLORIDA — Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office officers responded Tuesday morning to a reported industrial accident with injuries at the Preferred Materials asphalt plant on New Berlin Road in Jacksonville, according to a JSO spokesperson.
The accident was reported around 10:46 a.m. Tuesday. Officials have not yet released details about what caused the incident or how many people were injured.
Both Preferred Materials and the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department have been contacted for additional information.
Authorities remained on scene as of Tuesday afternoon, and the investigation is ongoing.
