
NORTH CAROLINA — Four people were injured in a crash involving a Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officer early Tuesday morning, according to officials.
The crash occurred just before 3 a.m. on April 21 at the intersection of Pineville-Matthews Road and Carmel Road.
Paramedics said one person suffered life-threatening injuries, while two others sustained serious injuries and one person had minor injuries. All four were transported to a hospital for treatment.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police confirmed the crash involved one police vehicle and one civilian vehicle. Both vehicles reportedly sustained heavy front-end damage.
The intersection was partially closed as of about 6:15 a.m., and drivers were advised to avoid the area.
Authorities have not released details on what led to the crash. The investigation remains ongoing.
