Four people arrested following large cocaine bust in Kentucky

KENTUCKY — Four people have been arrested following a multi-agency drug investigation in Lexington that authorities say resulted in the seizure of nearly $2 million worth of cocaine.

According to investigators, Marion Pinder, Edgar Hernandez-Duron, Jesus Rodriguez and Santiago Rodriguez were taken into custody after authorities uncovered approximately 47 kilograms of cocaine during the operation.

An affidavit from a Drug Enforcement Administration special agent states that investigators conducted surveillance at Pinder’s residence, where they tracked a Dodge Ram that was seen coming and going from the home.

Authorities said Pinder and Hernandez-Duron were later observed getting into a Jeep Compass after placing a red cooler inside. Members of the Kentucky State Police East Interdiction Team, along with federal agents, attempted to stop the vehicle, but both men fled on foot.

Troopers reported finding a kilogram of suspected cocaine inside the Jeep. Investigators later located the Dodge Ram and, after receiving consent to search it, discovered and seized 30 kilograms of cocaine.

Officials also executed a search warrant at Pinder’s residence, where they found an additional 16 kilograms of cocaine. Authorities said the packaging of the drugs was consistent across all locations.

Pinder and Hernandez-Duron were scheduled to appear in Fayette County court Wednesday morning. The investigation remains ongoing.
