MICHIGAN — Four people are facing drug and weapons charges after authorities seized narcotics and firearms during a six-month investigation in Oscoda County, Michigan.
The STING drug task force in Northern Michigan began the investigation after a woman was arrested in December on a fentanyl possession charge. Investigators said evidence recovered from her cellphone pointed to a conspiracy to traffic drugs in Oscoda County.
Law enforcement agencies executed search warrants Monday at two homes in Luzerne. Authorities said illegal narcotics were discovered at both residences, leading investigators to obtain additional search warrants.
Police said they seized cocaine, fentanyl, methamphetamine, 15 firearms and several electronic devices during the operation.
Those charged include 55-year-old Ranae Nolan of Luzerne, who faces charges including possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, possession of cocaine and fentanyl, felony firearm, maintaining a drug house and violating bond conditions.
Also charged was 55-year-old John Nolan of Luzerne, who faces charges of possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, possession of cocaine and fentanyl, felony firearm and maintaining a drug house.
Authorities also charged 46-year-old Cory McIntyre of Taylor with possession of firearms by a prohibited person and habitual offender fourth offense.
In addition, 36-year-old Wendy Laney of Luzerne had previously been arraigned in February on charges of delivery or manufacturing of a controlled substance and possession of methamphetamine. She is also accused of violating bond conditions.
The Nolans and McIntyre are awaiting further court proceedings in Oscoda County District Court. Laney’s case has been bound over to Oscoda County Circuit Court for trial.
