TEXAS — Houston police are investigating after an employee was found dead Friday inside an Alief-area business.
According to police, officers were called around noon to a business in a shopping center near Bellaire Boulevard and Turtlewood Drive.
Investigators said an employee went to check on a co-worker who had been working overnight after they had not heard from him. The man was found dead in the kitchen area of the business.
Police said the victim suffered blunt-force injuries to the head, and the death is being investigated as a homicide.
Authorities also said the victim’s vehicle appears to be missing.
Investigators believe the man was killed sometime overnight. Police said two witnesses reported stopping by the business during the night when it was supposed to be open, but found the doors locked. Officers noted that a back door to the business was unlocked.
The victim’s identity has not been released, and no suspect description was immediately available.
The investigation remains ongoing.
