
WISCONSIN — Eight people were arrested and multiple types of drugs were seized during a law enforcement operation in Marinette County, according to authorities.
The Marinette County Sheriff’s Office said the operation was conducted Friday with assistance from several local, state and regional law enforcement agencies.
Officials said deputies and officers conducted 145 traffic stops during the operation and carried out 43 K-9 deployments.
According to investigators, 138 warnings and 26 citations were issued during the operation. Eight people were taken into custody.
Authorities said recommended charges include possession and delivery of methamphetamine, possession of cocaine, possession of illegally obtained prescription drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Additional recommended charges include operating while intoxicated and probation and parole violations.
The sheriff’s office said agencies assisting with the operation included the Marinette Police Department, Niagara Police Department, Florence County Sheriff’s Office, Wisconsin State Patrol, Crivitz Police Department, Peshtigo Police Department, Shawano County Sheriff’s Office, Oconto County Sheriff’s Office, Oconto Falls Police Department, Oconto Police Department, the KIND drug team from Michigan and the Menominee County Sheriff’s Office in Michigan.
