OHIO — A 9-year-old boy was hospitalized after a group of juveniles ingested unknown pills in Dayton last week, according to police.
Dayton officers responded around 1 p.m. Thursday to the 1400 block of West Riverview Avenue on reports of an overdose.
Police said several juveniles had taken unknown pills. One of the juveniles, a 9-year-old boy, was taken to a hospital by private vehicle before officers arrived.
According to Sgt. Jared King, the child told officers he took pills from his older brother’s dresser.
The Dayton Fire Department treated the other juveniles at the scene. Authorities said the juveniles were alert, oriented and not in immediate medical distress.
Police said it remains unclear what substance the juveniles ingested.
The investigation remains ongoing.
