
IOWA — A missing man from Rochester has been found dead in the Upper Iowa River, according to the Allamakee County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities said 34-year-old Don Watson was reported missing on Friday, April 17.
His unoccupied vehicle was later discovered early Sunday morning, April 19, in Allamakee County. Deputies located the vehicle at approximately 12:36 a.m. at Wild Landing, near the intersection of Iowa River Drive and Lycurgus Road.
On Monday, April 20, the sheriff’s office received a report of a body in the river. Deputies responded and confirmed Watson’s body was found in the water about three miles downstream from Wild Landing.
Officials said the investigation is ongoing, but no foul play is suspected in Watson’s death.
