TEXAS — An unidentified woman’s body was found in the Guadalupe River on Tuesday evening during a search for a missing New Braunfels woman, according to city officials.
The City of New Braunfels said the body was located around 6 p.m. as search crews were looking for Juliet Elizabeth Watson, 59, who has been missing since May 26.
Officials said the Guadalupe River had been the focus of multiple searches over the past week. The body was found along the riverbank near the 700 block of Rusk Lane.
Authorities have not confirmed the identity of the woman. The body has been transported to the Comal County Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy and identification.
Officials said it remains unclear whether the body is Watson or another individual.
The New Braunfels Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division is continuing to investigate the case.
