GEORGIA — Authorities in Cherokee County are investigating after a body was discovered inside a barn on a rural property Thursday afternoon.
According to the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded shortly after 4 p.m. to the 2800 block of Land Road in the Clayton Community after receiving a report that a body had been found on the property.
Investigators have limited information at this stage of the case, but confirmed the body appeared to have been inside the barn for several days before it was discovered.
Authorities have not released the identity of the deceased. Investigators said additional information could be released Friday.
The investigation remains ongoing.
