FLORIDA — Two people from Tennessee were arrested in Vernon after deputies discovered illegal drugs during a traffic stop at the intersection of Highway 79 and Moss Hill Road.
Authorities say 33-year-old Kayla Baldwin of Maryville, Tennessee, was driving the vehicle, with 34-year-old Bruce Baldwin as a passenger.
Washington County deputies reported finding a pouch containing hypodermic needles, a spoon, and a light green pill identified by Kayla Baldwin as Xanax.
Deputies said Bruce Baldwin had methamphetamine in a pill bottle and drug paraphernalia for smoking narcotics in his pocket. Red strips that Bruce Baldwin claimed were LSD were also recovered.
Both Kayla and Bruce Baldwin were taken to Washington County Jail and charged with possession of a controlled substance without a prescription and possession of drug equipment.
