FLORIDA — A 68-year-old man was killed Monday night after a pickup truck driven by a 16-year-old crashed into his golf cart, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).
The crash happened just after 9:30 p.m. on SR-A1A at Normandy Place.
Troopers said the teen was driving behind the man when the pickup struck the golf cart from behind. Witnesses told investigators the golf cart had no lights on at the time.
The impact caused the golf cart to leave the roadway and overturn. The man was thrown from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.
FHP reported that the teen driver stayed at the scene and was not injured. The crash remains under investigation.
